BSGC Monthly Meeting Featuring Maple Fusion Demo by Ken Huth
The March Meeting is a little different. It will be held at the Green Learning Center,. which is next to the Civic Garden Center. Also, we will have a demo/workshop on that night. Everyone is welcome to participate. Ken Huth will give a quick 20min Demo on a new fusing or callousing techniques using well rooted Trident Maple Seedlings.
You can make a single calloused Tree or put several together for a chunkier knurly single Tree Bonsai or "Root over" with at least 2 seedlings, 3-5 are recommended.
Suggestions for participants:
- Using a pond basket, strainer, felt bag or nursery pot and having plenty of soil to pot them up
- If necessary, repot asap to get these projects growing as fast as possible.
- Please bring soil, wire, tools. Whatever is necessary to pot as bonsai tree.
- A softball size rock if you are doing root over rock.
- Trident Maples will cost between $2.00 to $3.00 and will be available the night of the meeting.
We will also briefly discuss putting 1 -3 seedlings thru metal washers for awesome Clump Style, growing on plates or tiles, root enhancement, and fusing.
