Krohn Conservatory 2023 Butterfly Show

It is Butterfly Show time again and we have been asked to help-out as informational entertainment in the John Carroll Gallery at the Krohn Conservatory. It is a fun time and allows us to spread information about the art of bonsai and hopefully bring some attention to our society.  The Butterfly Show will run for 14 weeks this year, from March 25 through June 18.  You will have plenty of time slots to volunteer! Some of you have done this in the past.  Many people see us working with our trees and ask lots of questions.  The bulk of the students in future beginner’s classes are generated through the Butterfly Show.  Remember your volunteer time allows club the use of the Krohn for classes free of charge as well as the Christmas Dinner.  

As in the past, bring a tree or two to work on, you are not conducting a demonstration, you are there as a volunteer to be polite and answer questions as they are asked. The shift runs from 10 to 2.  Try to get there at 9:30 or shortly thereafter, to get a parking spot close to the dock. The lot fills up fast prior to the doors opening at 10.  We will be set in the Bonsai Room.  I am not sure if there will be any food venders this year.  I usually brown bag it.
